CONNECTIVITY LAB

About Connectivity Lab

Independent research delivering transparent, data-driven insights into global eSIM performance

Connectivity Lab is a research initiative operated by HARRIE Inc., a global mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), focused on analyzing the real-world performance of global eSIM connectivity.

As eSIM technology rapidly expands across international travel markets, understanding how mobile data actually performs in real environments has become increasingly important. Connectivity Lab was established to provide independent, data-driven insights into how eSIM services operate across different cities, networks, and travel conditions.

Unlike traditional laboratory-based testing, Connectivity Lab conducts systematic field measurements in real usage environments—including airports, urban centers, transportation hubs, and popular travel destinations—where connectivity reliability is most critical.

By analyzing real-world network behavior, the lab aims to bridge the gap between theoretical network capability and actual user experience.

Research Focus

Connectivity Lab evaluates the real-world performance of global eSIM connectivity through standardized field testing methodologies.

Download Speed

Data transfer rate when receiving content from the network

Upload Speed

Data transfer rate when sending content to the network

Idle

Network response time during idle state without active data transfer

Download Ping

Latency measured during active download operations

Upload Ping

Latency measured during active upload operations

Measurements are conducted using consistent testing protocols and are repeated across multiple locations and time intervals to ensure reliability and comparability of results. This approach allows Connectivity Lab to provide a clearer picture of how mobile connectivity performs in real travel scenarios.

Our Mission

Empowering Transparency in Global Connectivity

Connectivity Lab exists to make global mobile connectivity more transparent.

In many cases, travelers and customers must rely on marketing claims when choosing mobile data services abroad. Our mission is to provide an alternative: objective, measurable, and publicly available performance data. All measurement results and analytical reports are openly published to ensure transparency and accessibility.

By making this data available, Connectivity Lab supports:

  • International travelers seeking reliable connectivity
  • Organizations analyzing mobile network performance
  • Businesses operating in global connectivity markets

Our Vision

Defining the Future of Transparent Connectivity

Our long-term vision is to establish a transparent, data-driven standard for evaluating global eSIM connectivity.

We believe that travelers and customers have the right to understand how mobile data performs in real environments—not just in theoretical specifications or promotional materials.

We envision a future where connectivity decisions are guided by real-world data, not marketing claims. In this future, users can confidently choose services based on verified performance, and providers are encouraged to compete on measurable quality.

Through continuous field testing, standardized methodologies, and open reporting, Connectivity Lab aims to contribute to a more transparent and accountable global connectivity ecosystem.

Data Transparency

All research findings from Connectivity Lab are published as open reports and technical summaries. These datasets contribute to the broader understanding of international mobile connectivity and are used as reference insights for travel connectivity analysis, including reports distributed through the ESIMWORLD.net platform.
